6. Where will the home field be and how far would we travel?

  • Home field will be located at Huber Park for the younger groups until Mid May.  We will utilizing the Reynoldsburg School system baseball fields after mid May.
  • Most teams will play within the Central Ohio Youth Baseball League or COYBL. COYBL tries to keep everyone relatively close to help keep drive times down. With that said we will not know exactly who is in our league each season until after the yearly COYBL coaches meeting held in January.

7. What is the tryout process?

Initially, all Aces Baseball tryouts are open tryouts. This means any player can attend the open tryout sessions. The tryout dates and times will be posted on this site, on our COYBL pages, and on our Facebook page in July and August. Once the open tryouts are complete, the age group coaches may decide to hold individual or invitation-only tryouts to finalize their rosters.  The actual tryout workouts vary by team, but are designed to provide the coaches with an opportunity to evaluate the player's hitting, fielding, speed, and pitching abilities.  Coaches are looking for the players that build the best team possible and not necessarily the best individuals.

8. How will disputes be handled?

See Code of Conduct and Parent Player Contract.

9. What is required out of me as a parent of a ball player on an Aces Baseball travel team?

10. What is required out of a ball player on an Aces Baseball travel team?

Each Aces Baseball player is expected to have a great attitude, a great work ethic, and a love of baseball.

11. How much of a time commitment is it to play on an Aces Baseball travel team?

Our coaches take pride in their ability to prepare teams for a lengthy and grueling regular season and tournament schedule. As such it requires year round focus and effort.  Programs vary from age group to age group and from coach to coach, but players should be expected to participate in fall and winter baseball related activities to build and develop baseball skills. Beginning in November, the indoor workout seasons begin. Players should expect multiple workout dates to continue to build and reinforce baseball skills. Once the tournament and regular seasons begin in early to late April, typically there will be 1-2 practices a week, 1-2 weeknight games, and a weekend tournaments or doubleheaders. Tournaments usually entail a minimum of 3 games and up to 5-6 total depending on how far the team advances.

The Aces Baseball travel program also recognizes the importance of diversity within our players and encourages participation in other sports and activities throughout the year. While the travel baseball program can be intense, we believe in developing young adults to be active participants in their community and environment. Our coaches understand these challenges, and the challenges of parents to get their children the right exposure to all these activities. As such continual engagement and communication with the coaches will ensure all goals are met.

12. What is the cost of playing on an Aces Baseball travel team?

Costs vary depending on age group and a multitude of factors.  Our programs are built to provide the players with access to quality instruction and facilities through a year round program. These costs include uniforms, equipment (helmet, bag, and team training equipment), workout locations at various indoor facilities, league fees, umpire fees, and tournaments. Some coaches elect to have fundraising opportunities to help defray the costs as well as build a positive team environment.

13. How can parents and adults interview for coaching positions within the Reynoldsburg Aces Baseball and Softball program?

The Aces Baseball coaches selection process is an annual endeavor on the part of the Aces Baseball travel program to identify and appoint the best available individuals to lead Aces Baseball teams for the upcoming season. Anyone interested in being considered for a coaches position within the Aces Baseball travel program should make their candidacy known to the Reynoldsburg Baseball Association Board. Contact information for the Reynoldsburg Baseball Association can be found on the Home page. An annual interview process is conducted in late June and early July and coaches are selected at the conclusion of this series of interviews. All coaches must be able to pass a comprehensive background check.

14. What is required out of the coaches in the Aces Baseball travel program?

Our coaches have a responsibility to prepare all players for competition through encouragement and practice. Our coaches will take responsibility for the errors on the field. All our coaches understand players are not perfect and when errors or strikeouts occur, it is time for encouragement, not a time to point out the obvious fact of an error or strikeout.

15. How can parents get involved with the Aces Baseball travel program?

As with any successful baseball program, the Aces Baseball travel program rely on the dedication and commitment of parents who love the game of baseball and wish to continue our high standard of teaching and developing baseball players and young adults. If you wish to get involved with the Aces Baseball travel program you can contact the Reynoldsburg Baseball Association Board.
